A showcase for all the cultural richness and diversity of Marrakesh, Riad Akka is a unique building that has been reinterpreted in a contemporary style. It has been refurbished with all due respect to traditional architectural features and reflects the determination of Sylvie and Alain Dina, the new owners, to recreate the authentic Marrakshi way of life in a contemporary minimalist setting.

Sylvie is an interior designer who has ‘worked with traditional materials (the famous tadelakt in particular) in a palette of colours including plum, red, charcoal… giving results that are both modern and comforting,’ to quote Elle magazine in 2006. She has also designed all the furniture in this designer riad in Marrakesh making full use of the know-how and skills of local mastercraftsmen and indigenous building materials.
